PhD - Isotope geochemistry of Ordovician-Devonian formations in the Williston basin (CA, US)
Research Field: Lithium and other non-traditional stable isotopes application towards understanding the paleo-depositional and diagenetic history of Ordovician to Devonian formations in the Williston Basin (Canada-USA). Coupled studies of formation water (brines) for paleo-fluid water-rock interaction history, paleo-seawater and paleo-hydrothermal water composition determination, and development of a deposit model to support resource companies’ efforts to develop a direct lithium extraction industry in the Williston Basin for batteries and green energy transition. Project: The successful applicant will analyze lithium, calcium, magnesium, and strontium isotope compositions of carbonates, evaporites and brines in various formations of the Willisto
